Blue Steel Booths created an interactive experience for Kia Motors ‘Summer of Cricket’ brand activation at the Kia Oval: Surrey Cricket Club for the 2013 International Fixtures and the Ashes Series. Over the course of 14 cricket matches, the Kia activation enhanced the match day experience and created a real sense of fun and excitement.
Cricket-goers were invited to step inside the fully customized, Kia branded photo booth and, using green screen technology, had their photo taken in front of a selection of cricket and Oval-related backgrounds. Whilst they waited for their bespoke photo booth prints, guests uploaded their images to Facebook, Twitter or email using touch screen monitors outside the booth. Although the photo booth was enjoyed by fans of all ages, the activation specifically attracted a younger demographic to the Kia brand – a highly sought-after market to capture.
‘The Power to Surprise’ was Kia’s inspiration for this campaign, and as such, Blue Steel Booths surprised cricket fans not only with a unique photography experience, but with the quality of the activation and dedication to enhancing their cricket experience.
